The multi protocol control engine stores the sequence of operation and works as a standalone chiller plant manager. It connects to the environmental plant using IO modules equipped with status LEDs and override switches that are used for manual operation and for testing purposes.
The IO modules are resilient to communication failure; they will hold the last commands from the multi protocol control engine and keep critical equipment running until the communication path is restored. The status LEDs give the iDCMS operator a clear picture of the commands received from the iDCMS and the feedback from the end device. Any mismatch due to communications failure will also be reflected in the IO modules.
The Data Centers are designed so that all the critical elements and their delivery paths are redundant, which simplifies maintenance.
