July 16, 2013 - Fujitsu today announces that it is powering cloud solutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The company has formed an agreement with Pacific Controls Cloud Services to offer cloud computing solutions.
Fujitsu is enabling its long-term customer, Pacific Controls Cloud Services which has a partnership with Etisalat, to set up, operate and market the first cloud services in the region.
These new cloud services enable end-user companies in the region to cut their fixed and operational expenditure by as much as half, while also reducing their carbon footprint due to more efficient use of resources. Designed by Fujitsu to be highly secure and scalable, these services are easily accessible from any location via the Cloud. While maintaining a low cost of ownership, improved cash-flow, and receiving 24-hour support from Fujitsu, end-user companies can focus on their core business, rather than maintaining their information Technology (IT).
The services are tailored to meet the IT requirements of many vertical sectors including the public and government sectors, banking and finance, education, energy and oil, wholesale and retail, healthcare and hospitality, airlines and logistics, construction and infrastructure.
Pacific Controls Cloud Services offer Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) via the Cloud, which will address both small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and large companies. The company will also offer cloud storage solutions, with data back-up and recovery. As a result, businesses in the region utilizing the cloud services can benefit from enhanced flexibility and quick response to changing business conditions.
Pacific Controls has built a Uptime Institute Certified Tier-lll Data Center in Dubai to house Fujitsu's cloud infrastructure of PRIMERGY servers and ETERNUS storage solutions as the backbone for the company's new cloud offerings.
Pacific Controls Cloud Services offers private, public and government sector customers ICT solutions enabling business virtualization and the ability to connect millions of IT assets through its universal cloud computing platform to deliver real time business intelligence.
Cloud services solutions have transformed the way companies leverage IT in the United Arab Emirates and the GCC. By introducing cloud services to the market, end-users can access a complete range of applications and expand in their IT infrastructure capabilities with lowest cost and provide significant speed and flexibility.
Dilip Rahulan, Chairman at Pacific Controls Cloud Services said, "Cloud Computing represents an opportunity for business innovation. Pacific Controls has a vision to make UAE the hub for Cloud Services. Realizing the potential we have invested Dhs450m to build a state of the art Data Center Campus in Technopark Dubai, to host our cloud services.
Rupert Lehner, Senior Vice President Solution Business Group, Fujitsu Technology Solutions:
