Emirates Energy Star reduced UAE's carbon footprint by 1 ton during Earth Hour 2013

Emirates Energy Star reduced UAE's carbon footprint

Earth Hour is a worldwide event organized by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) and held towards the end of March annually, encouraging households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change. Earth Hour 2013 was organized on 23rd March from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM UAE time.

In observance of this global event, Emirates Energy Star (EES) through our installed power meters on facilities connected to our Global Command Control Center (GCCC) measured and compared the hourly consumption from 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM and 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM. EES was thus able to quantify the positive environmental impact created by the connected buildings while participating in the Earth Hour.
